Spring Cleaning

It’s been a day of spring cleaning and re-arranging the furniture.

Ever since I arrived back from Europe I’ve been looking at my lounge and living space in a less than glamorous manner.

“What’s prompted this?”, my frend Sue asked me on the phone.

I guess it’s the realisation deep down that my place hasn’t exactly been the most conducive place for socialising for quite some time.

I’ve had a lot of furniture crammed into a small space, and ordered in a reasonably unsocial manner.

The television and the computer have dominated the space. The dining table moved into a corner. It’s been very “closed”. Oh, and completely messy as well.

And so I’ve moved the furniture around so the dining table is now right near the door as you enter.

I’ve moved the computer and desk from one side of the room to the other.

I’ve moved the lounge and television into a corner.

And suddenly it feels like the space is twice the size. Well, maybe that’s an exaggeration, but it certainly feels a lot more open.

Deep down, I guess it’s a realisation I wouldn’t mind socialising at home a little more, as it’s been quite some time since I’ve done. Aside from my annual Eurovision Party, of course…

  1. Sounds like a good start to the new year :)
    p.s I’m messy too ;)
