Rixon Family Reunion

To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the arrival of James Rixon in Australia, a reunion was held at Campbelltown in May 1998. With thanks to organiser, Helen Rixon there are some more photographs from the day. See link below..

Some family myths and legends exposed – or uncovered, thank you. I am the grandchild of Fred Holland (m. Margaret Winifred Richards… )and so a long connection to the colourful Rixons. One family story is that a young man of the family swapped babies in beds at a family gathering near Woolongong. The bleary and happy parents simply collected the child left where they thought and returned home – some to Appin, before they discovered the swap! Who was this? I’d love to know.
