Listowel Capark

According to 1852 Griffiths Valuation, the Lynch Family lived in a dwelling in Glanafhuca which appears to have been right in the heart of Listowel, near Church Street.

It is said that the Lynch Family lived in a dwelling in Glanafhuca, overlooking the River Feal. Glanafhuca, located behind the ruins of a castle was home to several flourmills in the early Nineteenth Century, and was named after a spirit which (tradition alleges) at one time haunted the area. It is now the site of the carpark to the racecourse and lies in the shadow of the ancient Listowel Castle.

Doug – all of the info I have about my branch of the Lynch family is online. I don’t have any other additional info, though if I find some, I will happily share.
